Mrs. Barbara Chavous-Pennock
Mrs. Chavous-Pennock has built upon her many years of experience in social work; integrating her vast learning into a multi-disciplinary, comprehensive, approach to address the educational needs of children supported by teachers, parents/guardians, families, human service professionals and the community.
Filled with compassion yet disciplined evidence based approaches to learning, Mrs. Pennock’s distinguished career in public and private service is an excellent vantage point from which to approach educational excellence that is compelling. Her experience includes human services, educational choice, charter, private and Christian school development and while director of Urban Initiatives for Special Olympics Pennsylvania – Philadelphia, the implementation of award winning Unified Sports in numerous schools throughout Philadelphia serving as a model for the state. She is most adept at strategic planning and implementing new ideas from concept to best practice models of service.
Hailed as an executive leader, Mrs. Chavous has worked on behalf of U. S. Presidents and for elected officials at all levels of government, corporate executives within diverse industries, and community leaders. She champions team member empowerment and cross disciplinary collaboration to enhance academic achievement; coaching and mentoring students, staff and parents to produce success and improve outcomes for all.
Barbara earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Temple University in Social Work/Administration graduating Magna cum Laude and as well, completed business administration courses as a Ph.D. candidate – Columbia Pacific University (1996).
